This year, Liverpool was frequently linked to Leny Yoro, but their pursuit of him was unsuccessful. Either this summer or on a free transfer the following year, Real Madrid was his destination.

That’s what everyone believed, anyway. Rather, Yoro will sign a £52 million contract with Manchester United, who have made what Fabrizio Romano called a “incredible proposal.”
Yoro has played football for United for just one complete season, yet they will pay him like a superstar. It’s a risk, a huge risk, and it deterred Liverpool.

They apparently couldn’t justify the costs, therefore they chose not to match United’s offer. Whether that was the right move or not will only time will tell, but what are the fans’ thoughts on Liverpool’s choice?

YORO POLL
On X/Twitter, we polled supporters to see if the Reds ought to have made a bigger effort to sign the wonderkid. We presented three solutions, and two of them were rejected for various reasons.

One was that Liverpool doesn’t need him at all, and the other was that it was too dangerous because he hasn’t shown enough.
With 42% of the vote, “yes” received more votes than any other option, although more supporters supported Liverpool’s choice than did not. Here, that distinction is crucial.

Still, it’s quite near. Although the percentage of voters who support the club’s decision isn’t particularly high—58% to 42%—it does indicate that Yoro is more valuable to them.

Once more, though, only time will tell. He was never one to move lightly, and we can suppose that many of the “yes” votes were motivated by a desire to see some kind of transfer activity.

Without a doubt, Yoro is a tremendous talent that United will be fortunate to have. It remains to be seen if he lives up to the hype, and Liverpool finally concluded that the risk was too large.
