Rich in history, a European city boasting “one of the prettiest streets”

It’s understandable why Budapest is frequently listed as a place that visitors must see. The capital of Hungary is known for its breathtaking architecture and genuine Hungarian artisan beer.

From July 3 to July 7, 2024, you may take a return flight for £90 from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Budapest. Time Out reports that Condé Nast Traveler, a travel magazine, has compiled a list of 71 of the world’s most beautiful streets, with one in Budapest ranking among the top 20.

The list features streets with vibrant homes, striking architecture, and blossoming trees, ranging from Paris and Kyoto to Bruges and Buenos Aires. Zrínyi Utca Street in Budapest came in at number thirteen on the list.

One of the most visited tourist destinations in the city, St. Stephen’s Basilica, is accessible from the charming pedestrian street in St. Stephen’s Square. Numerous stores, eateries, and pubs can be found along the route, along with fantastic photo opportunities.

Which Budapest sights are the best?
Budapest offers a wealth of sights and activities. You may spend hours exploring the city and stopping by its numerous sights, stores, pubs, and restaurants. The city is adorned with stunning architecture.

As previously noted, a must-see location on your vacation is the well-known St. Stephen’s Basilica in St. Stephen’s Square. Named after Stephen, the first King of Hungary, it is situated on the Pest side. Additionally, visitors can climb the tower to get some amazing city views.

The square is also home to the well-known Christmas markets in the city during the winter. You can cross over to the Buda side by going to the Chain Bridge, which spans the Danube.

Fisherman’s Bastion, Budapest’s panoramic observation terrace with fairytale turrets, is located here. In addition to taking advantage of this fantastic photo op, you can head back down to the riverside and choose to go on a boat trip to see even more of the city.

And a visit to an outdoor thermal pool is a must-do when visiting Hungary. The most well-known is perhaps Széchenyi Baths, which are located north of the city.

Budapest’s streets are lined with interesting murals and “ruin bars,” which are made of abandoned buildings decorated with graffiti and live plants. Szimpla Kert is the original, hosting events and live music all year round.

Is Budapest a tourist destination?

You may visit Budapest any time of year, and the spring and summer months usually bring pleasant weather. Not only is it a fantastic place to visit during the Christmas season, but LJLA called it a “must see city break” and “one for your travel bucket list.”

The following is stated on the Liverpool John Lennon Airport website: Budapest experiences moderate summers and extremely harsh winters. Summertime is the ideal time to visit due to high temperatures.

With an average temperature of 24°C in July and August, you can take full advantage of the clear skies and sunshine. September and October have average highs of 22°C, which is somewhat colder but still good weather.”
