This week, Manchester United surprised the football world by signing Lille’s Leny Yoro. Real Madrid was the center back’s destiny; Liverpool practically gave up on trying to sign him.

By closing the transaction, United acquired one of the most promising teenage football players in the world. However, it seems that moves elsewhere will also be impacted.

According to Correio da Manha, United will now withdraw from the competition for Goncalo Inacio, the center-back for Sporting. By doing this, they make Sporting’s negotiating position worse because there is less competition now to sign Inacio.

They will have been taken aback by Yoro’s turn, just like everyone else. As a result, Sporting is no longer anticipated to want the entire £50 million release clause for Inacio; instead, they will negotiate for about £38 million.

For any other teams hoping to sign Inacio this summer, that’s encouraging news. Liverpool is merely one of them by coincidence.

LIVERPOOL LIKE GONCALO INACIO IN THE CLUB
Inacio is allegedly being prioritized by Liverpool, who view him as a legitimate summer transfer target. That was also when he had cost £50 million; the Reds might have been inspired to make a big play for the defender by the price reduction.

Throughout the year, Inacio has been connected to Liverpool, especially when Ruben Amorim was named the new manager of Anfield. But the linkages haven’t vanished after Arne Slot arrived.

They’re about to go into overdrive immediately. After their main rival withdrew from the race, Liverpool is now unquestionably the best-positioned team to sign Inacio.

Though there is still a long way to go, it is quite likely that Inacio will be the new center-back that arrives this summer.
