Trent Alexander-Arnold, a defender for Liverpool, has one year left on his Anfield contract.

After theories surfaced on social media, Liverpool supporters’ expectations of Trent Alexander-Arnold receiving a longer contract were shattered. The vice captain and product of the Reds school is nearing the end of his current deal at Anfield, and rumors of Real Madrid interest are circulating.

With Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah having one year left on their contracts, the England defender is one of three players whose futures are in doubt. On social media on Tuesday, a photo of the recently constructed Anfield Road Stand in L4’s seats covered surfaced.

The front edge of the roof was actually receiving repair work, which is why the work was done at the Anfield Road stand. It has been reported that the covers have been in place for at least a week.

Among the names omitted from the original 28-man roster that traveled to Pittsburgh for the second phase of Arne Slot’s team’s preseason preparations was Alexander-Arnold. After England’s run to the championship, Joe Gomez and Alexander-Arnold have had some time off.

Bobby Clark and Jayden Danns, recent graduates of the academy, were not present on Slot’s first journey outside of Kirkby. Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, and first-team players Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Dominik Szoboszlai boarded the plane to the United States, with Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota following in order.

On Saturday, July 27, Slot will manage the Reds in their inaugural match as head coach in Pennsylvania against Real Betis. This will be followed by back-to-back matches against Premier League teams, Manchester United and Arsenal.
